Usage Note 14774: Cannot instantiate server side object SASHELP.RPRDATH.PRODAUTH.CLASS
When opening an existing project or creating a new project using the
Enterprise Miner 5.1 Java Client, you may receive a message box reading:
Server Error
Cannot instantiate server side object
SASHELP.RPRDATH.PRODAUTH.CLASS
This message occurs when Enterprise Miner cannot be invoked on the SAS
Workspace Server.
The following steps will help determine the cause:
1) Check your SAS license to determine if you are licensed for
Enterprise Miner and the license has not expired.
From a SAS Editor window, or with a batch program, submit the following
step on the machine running the SAS Workspace Server:
PROC SETINIT NOALIAS;
RUN;
The SAS Log will list the individual products in your license along with
the expiration date of each product. If "Enterprise Miner Server" is not
listed, then you don't have a license for Enterprise Miner. If the
current date past the expiration date listed, then Enterprise Miner has
expired.
2) Determine if Enterprise Miner is installed.
From a SAS Editor window, or with a batch program, submit the following
step on the machine running the SAS Workspace Server:
PROC DISPLAY C=SASHELP.DMCON.VERSION.SCL;
RUN;
Look in the SAS Log for the message, NOTE: SAS Enterprise Miner Server
version 4.3. If you don't receive this note, or you receive the message,
ERROR: Catalog SASHELP.DMCON does not exist, then Enterprise Miner is
not installed.
Another way to determine if Enterprise Miner is installed is by looking
in the sasroot directory on the machine running the SAS Workspace
Server. If this machine is a Windows platform, then you should have the
folder:
<sasroot>\dmine
For UNIX systems, look for the file:
<sasroot>/sasexe/sasdmine
If you don't have this folder or file, Enterprise Miner is not
installed.
