Problem Note 14238: Web Report Studio may cause the Stored Process Server to "hang"
When submitting requests to the Stored Process Server, Web Report Studio
may cause the Stored Process Server to hang.
Web Report Studio opens connections to the Stored Process Server but
does not free the server connections. The default configuration of the
Stored Process Server permits up to twelve connections. So, once these
twelve connections have been used (and not freed), no more connections
are available. The connections are freed when Web Report Studio is
closed.
The following scenario may cause the Stored Process Server to hang:
1.) In Web Report Studio, go to:
Shared Folders -> Reports -> StoredProcesses
2.) Run 'tsttabu2'
See the expected prompts window; leave default as 'activex'
and select 'View Report' to see the report.
3.) Repeat the following two steps until it hangs. It
may take about eight iterations
A. Select "Refresh Data." This will take you
back to the prompts window
B. Select "View Report" to see the report.
The following error message may be displayed when this problem occurs:
sam.S251.ex.msg: A problem occurred while connecting to a load
balancing spawner. Check the spawner log for more details.
A Hot fix is available in SAS 9.1.3 SP2. Web Report Studio is
re-released in the SP2 service pack. So, users will need to install the
new WRS Version 2.1 to fix this problem.
