Problem Note 13851: Simultaneously adding a new product and a new localization to an
existing installation fails with the error "No such file or directory"
Trying to add a new product and a new localization at the same time to
an existing installation fails with the following error:
./bin/sas_ja: No such file or directory
where sas_ja will be named according to the localization you are adding
(in this case Japanese). This is because the file used to start the new
localization will not have been installed yet.
There are two workarounds:
1. If you haven't attempted the install yet, simply install one portion
at a time and no problems will occur.
2. If your installation has already failed with the above error, then go
back and reinstall the language. Right after the "Select Default
Language" dialog, you will receive a message that the products are
already installed. Choose "Install All Selected Software." If any
post-processing is needed for the added product, this will still need
to be done.
A fix for SAS 9.1.3 (9.1 TS1M3) for this issue is available at:

For customers running SAS with Asian Language Support (DBCS), this
