Problem Note 13759: Unable to obtain error codes from unsuccessful bulkload operation with the SAS/ACCESS Interface to Oracle when using PROC APPEND

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It
The SYSDBRC and SYSERR macro variables will contain a 0 when errors are
returned if you are using the SAS/ACCESS Interface to Oracle and PROC
APPEND with BULKLOAD=YES. The macro, SYSDBMSG, will be blank.

The only circumventions currently are:

  1) Check for the existence of the .bad file. An SQL*Loader file
is created with all rejected rows during a bulkload operation.
By default, this file is written to the current directory.
Use the BL_BADFILE data set option to redirect this file.

  2) Parse the SQL*Loader file for an Oracle error.

You will be able to check the macro SYSERR in SAS 9.2. It will contain
a non-zero value for an unsuccessful bulkload operation with the SAS
Oracle interface.

A fix for SAS 9.1.3 (9.1 TS1M3) for this issue is available at:

For customers running SAS with Asian Language Support (DBCS), this
fix should be downloaded from:
