Problem Note 13514: Errors when reading a Version 6 sequential data library that is sorted
by more than ten variables
In SAS 9, attempting to read a Version 6 SAS data set in sequential
format which is sorted by more than ten variables may cause the SAS
System to generate errors. Some errors that may be displayed are:
ERROR: The format Õ was not found or could not be loaded.
ERROR: The format ÕOEA was not found or could not be loaded.
ERROR: The format Õ :¦ :ö was not found or could not be loaded.
These errors are not always specific to formats and are displayed
because of compatibility changes that were made to the Version 6
TAPE sequential engine that currently ships with SAS 9. Note that
unlike similar errors reported in #012437 , the sequential SAS data set
is not corrupted and can be read with previous versions of the SAS
System.
