Usage Note 13367: "Connect Error: Unable to establish a connection to the requested
metadata server. Error 1326 and 1909" when logging onto metadata server
When you log into a metadata server that has been started from the
SAS Management Console, if the userID or password are not correct,
the following error message appears:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Connect Error:
X Unable to establish a connections to the requested metadata server.
OK
------------------------------------------------------------------
When you inspect the metadata server log, it reveals Error 1326 and
1909 error messages. The Metadata server log can be found in the
following location:
x:\SAS\(plan name)\lev1\sasmain\metadataservers\logs
Replace x with the drive letter that the BI platform was installed to.
Replace (plan name) with the name of the plan that you used.
Here are typical messages in the log when the account has been locked
out:
Defined server listen connection (1) on port 8561.
ERROR: Error authenticating user sastrust in function LogonUser.
Error 1326 (Logon failure: unknown user name or bad
password.).
ERROR: Access denied.
NOTE: New client connection (2) rejected from server port 8561 for
user (MachineName?)\sastrust. Peer IP address and port are
(IP address?).
NOTE: Unknown user sasadm or invalid password
ERROR: Error authenticating user sasadm in function LogonUser.
Error 1909 (The referenced account is currently locked out
and may not be logged on to).
NOTE: New client connection (3) rejected from server port 8561
for user (MachineName?)\sasadm. Peer IP address and port are
(IP address?).
NOTE: Unknown user sasadm or invalid password
This issue is similar to SAS Note #013347 , except that an Error 1909
message is also reported because the userID has been locked out of
the domain.
Solution: add the userID into the domain.
