Problem Note 13102: COULD NOT AUTHENTICATE USER message may appear when attempting to log in to the Information Delivery Portal using a valid userid and password

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It
When attempting to log on to the SAS Information Delivery Portal using a
valid userid and password, the logon may fail with the following error:

   Could Not Authenticate User.

The logon will fail for the first two logon attempts but then succeed on
the third attempt.

This problem will occur if the "User names and passwords on forms" and
the "Prompt me to save passwords" AutoComplete options are checked in
the Internet Explorer (IE) options. To check the AutoComplete options
in IE, select:

   Tools==>Internet Options==>Content Tab==>Autocomplete

Internet Explorer's behavior seems to be that for each userid, it will
prompt you only twice to save passwords for a given page. Therefore,
the third attempt to log on to the Portal is successful.

To correct the problem, uncheck the "User names and passwords on forms"
AutoComplete option and select the "Clear Passwords" button.
