Usage Note 13613: Installing additional products after installing SAS® Foundation 9.1
To install additional products after installing SAS 9.1 Foundation:
Insert your SAS setup CD and let the autorun start up.
Under End User Steps, select Install SAS Software.
Point to the correct SAS installation data file.
At the InstallShield Wizard: Existing SAS Installation Found dialog box, select Add components to SAS.
The following displays provide more detail and illustrate an example of how to use physical media to perform the add-on installation. If you are installing from a depot location rather than from physical media, then navigate to the depot in the disk1 folder and run setup.exe, for example <path to depot>\disk1\setup.exe.
Important: On an Itanium system only, deselecting product components uninstalls them. On an Itanium system, select only the components to add.
You should also close any open SAS sessions as well as any SAS services before you perform the add-on installation.
Insert the SAS Setup Disk. Autoplay should start or you can run setup.exe on the cd.
Choose your setup language and click OK.
Under the End User Steps, select Install SAS Software.
As noted, exit all programs, including virus scanning programs.
Select a method for the SAS setup to obtain SAS installation data and click Next.
Provide the path to the SAS installation data file then click Next.
You will see software listed as indicated by your SAS Installation Data. Click Next.
You will see some processing occur.
Select your language and click Next.
The Existing SAS Installation Found dialog box appears. The default is to Add components to SAS. Click Next.
In the Select Components dialog box, deselect everything. You can do this by deselecting SAS Software at the top. Then select the product that you are adding on to the existing installation. Expand SAS 9.1 to see what products are available and to select the one that you are adding.
This example expands on SAS 9.1 and selects SAS/ACCESS® Interface to PC Files. Note that making any selection automatically checks Base SAS®.
This is normal behavior. Click Next.
Click Next. Complete the product add-on by supplying the installer with any CD that it prompts you to provide in order to finish.
If you are using a depot instead of physical media, you should not be prompted as the installer is installing from the depot.
