Problem Note 13415: Generating output with the CSV tagset may cause performance problems
When generating output with the CSV and the CSVALL tagsets in SAS 9.12
and SAS 9.13, performance problems may exist.
This may result in out of memory errors, or increase CPU and elapsed
times.
The CSV tagset has to determine whether a data value is a string, which
must be quoted, or a number, which is not quoted. The algorithm can be
undesirably slow in certain situations, especially when the data is all
numeric. The fix for this can be added by updating the tagset.
The updated tagset also includes additional enhancements to the CSV
destination for SAS 9.1.3. The currency symbol is no longer displayed
by default when the DOLLARw.d format has been applied to a variable. The
updated tagset provides the flexibility of choosing whether to display
the symbol or not as well as additional options such as quoting and the
delimiter to use.
