Usage Note 13230: How to control priority of spawned servers on z/OS with WorkLoadManager
(WLM)
In SAS 9, to control the priority that spawned tasks create in
SAS/Connect or Integration Technologies spawners on z/OS, in WLM
(WorkLoadManager) you should establish the various service classes
for USS (Unix System Services) (i.e. OMVSLO, OMVSMED, OMVSHI).
In the USS shell script for SAS/Connect or Integration Technologies, set
the environment variable _BPX_ACCT_DATA to one of the WLM service
classes.
Example of lines to add to the USS shell script:
#
# Use the account data to place SAS in the correct WLM service class
#
export _BPX_ACCT_DATA=OMVSMED
The spawned processes are under control of OMVS workload.
NOTE: This also applies to the Intelligence Platform Servers
(Workspace, StoredProcess, Connect)
