Usage Note 12915: Error: Cannot open "sasv9.cfg". Set option '-PATH' not set." error
message when running SAW or setup.exe for Admin/Client install
When you run the SAS Administration Wizard (SAW) or setup.exe at a
different machine from where the original SAS Admin/Client is
installed, the following error message appears in a SAS message log:
Error: Cannot open "Q:\V9Client\sas\nls\en\SASV9.CFG"
SAS option '-PATH' not set.
Check configuration file, SAS environment options or command line
options.
SAS option '-RESOURCESLOC' not set.

Traceback
SASTBTraceBackCtx has been called with a
string ("vacrash") instead of a CONTEXT pointer.
To work around this problem, remap your drive letter on your local
machine to match the drive letter that is contained in the sasv9.cfg
file on your network Admin/Client image.
The Admin/Client image imbeds the path to the mapped drive and the
directories in the sasv9.cfg file on the server machine. The following
are a few lines from a sasv9.cfg file on the server for the Admin/Client
image:
/* Default resources location */
-RESOURCESLOC ("!sasroot\nls\en\resource" "!sasroot\core\resource")
-SET sasroot Q:\V9_ts0m0_Client\sas
-SET sasext0 Q:\V9_ts0m0_Client\sas\nls
-SET SASFOLDER "Q:\V9_ts0m0_Client\sas\nls\en"
Note: If you had tried using the SAW or setup.exe from another machine,
this attempt to install might have worked if the drives were mapped
correctly.
Note: You can try to run the SAW or setup.exe while you are at the
Server machine where the Admin/Client exists, but an error message
might appear that indicates a non-match on the systems Operating System
due to your current SAS Installation Data file (SID - sas9xxxxxx.txt).
So in this case its better to perform this from the client machine.
