Usage Note 12657: SAS ABM login fails with "The event log is full."
When an attempt is made to login to (or perform other actions in) SAS
Activity-Based Management, the login may fail with the message
The event log is full.
This message can usually be taken literally, i.e. one or more of
the Windows event logs has probably reached the defined maximum sized
set. To verify, open the Event Viewer application which is in the
Windows Control Panel under Administrative Tools.
You can alleviate the immediate problem by clearing the full log
file(s). To do this, right-click on the icon for the full log and select
Clear Events. If you have not yet reviewed the log, you may first want
to save it for later review - see 'Save Log File As' under the Actions
menu.
You may also want to adjust how each event log file uses disk space. To
do this, right-click on the icon for each of the log files and select
Properties. You will see the options listed under Log Size. If you opt
to increase the maximum size allowed, be sure to keep an eye on total
available disk space to avoid choking processes running on the server.
