Problem Note 12414: SAS 9.1.2 install fails with S0C1/S0C4 in the SASINIT step of job
SASINSTA due to Z-Series opcode on older hardware or on OS/390 operating
When installing SAS 9.1.2 (TS1M2), the following error maybe seen in
ERROR: SYSTEM ABEND 0C1 OCCURRED IN MODULE SASVXSAM FUNCTION VXBSM
AT OFFSET 005102.
ERROR: TRACEBACK WILL BE ATTEMPTED...
and/or an S0C4 abend in module SASXGTF in the JESLOG.
This is due to a Z-series opcode being used by SAS and the opcode is not
supported in an OS/390 operating system environment or with a z/OS
operating system on a non Z-series CPU.
The problem may also be seen in scenarios other than installation. For
example, if SAS 9.1.2 (TS1M2) was installed successfully on a z/OS
operating system but later copied over to an environment described
earlier. The errors and abends seen are the same in all scenarios.
To continue with the install after receiving the S0C1, install hot fix
C9BA06 and then continue with the following steps.
Hot fix C9BA06 can be downloaded from the following link:
