Usage Note 11126: Addendum: Post-Installation Setup for the SAS RFC Server on UNIX and
z/OS operating systems running SAS 9.1
This Alert Note describes the post-installation setup for the SAS RFC
Server after SAS/ACCESS Interface to R/3 software has been loaded from
the SAS 9.1 CD set. The information contained herein applies to UNIX
and z/OS operating systems.
For the SAS RFC server on UNIX and on z/OS (UNIX System Services), the
thread safe shared library for RFC must be installed. This shared
library is provided by SAP AG. Download the current RFC library for
your operating system per instructions in SAP Note 413708. For the SAS
RFC server on Tru64 UNIX, download the 64-bit version; for all other
operating systems, download the 32-bit version of the RFC library.
There are special considerations for downloading the RFC library for
HP-UX and z/OS operating systems.
On HP-UX, the 32-bit RFC library is currently available as part of the
RFC SDK only. Download the SDK from the SAP Service Marketplace,
http://service.sap.com/patches. The navigation path is as follows:
SAP WEB AS -> SAP WEB AS 6.20 -> Binary Patches -> SAP RFC SDK 6.20 ->
HPUX_11.
On z/OS, the RFC library for 4.6D is required for the SAS RFC Server.
The RFC library (librfc) can be obtained from the SAP Presentation CD
for SAP Release 4.6D for UNIX. The navigation path is as follows:
SDK/UNIX/OS390_32.
Please refer to the Installation Instructions for SAS/ACCESS 9.1
Interface to R/3 for details on post-installation setup after the thread
safe shared library for RFC has been installed.
