Problem Note 10379: Extraneous characters appear in RTF header
When an RTF file is created with ODS RTF in SAS 9.1 extraneous RTF
control characters may appear in the first column header in the RTF
file if any of the following conditions exist:
The MS Word SHOW/HIDE button is selected/highlighted.
Under Tools..Options..View, Hidden Text is checked.
Under Format..Reveal Formatting..Show all formatting marks
in the lower right corner is checked.
To eliminate them, un-check the SHOW/HIDE button (reverse P), un-check
the "Hidden Text" box under the Tools..Options..View menu, or un-check
the "Show all formatting marks" under the Format..Reveal Formatting
menu.
Starting in 9.1.3 SP2, the following option on the ODS RTF statement
will prevent this table of contents from being created altogether:
