The SAS Renew Software tool does not verify the operating system name
before attempting to apply the SAS Installation Data file (SID). If the
SID contains an OSNAME= option that does not match the operating system
on which SAS exists, the following error message might appear:

   An error has occurred while applying the setinit file.

Open the setinit.log to troubleshoot. If this error message appears
because of an operating system mismatch, the log entry appears as
follows:

   NOTE: The OSNAME= option specifies 'WIN' but the current operating
   system name is 'NET_SRV'.
   ERROR: This non-match is not allowed and the setinit stream will not
   be applied.
   ERROR: Cannot change the site validation data.
   NOTE: The SAS System stopped processing this step because of errors.

To correct this issue, obtain a new SID file with the correct operating
system. Note that the system names might vary depending on the operating
systems involved.

The setinit.log file is located in the !sasroot directory.  The default
directory for !sasroot is C:\Program Files\SAS\SAS 9.1.
