Usage Note 10790: "Error: Will not attempt to apply setinit because the current release of
9.1 and the release= option value of 9.0 do not match", appears when you
run the Renew SAS Software tool
When you run the SAS 9.1 Renew SAS Software tool on Step 1 (Select a SAS
Installation Data File) and point to a SAS 9.0 SID file instead of a
SAS 9.1 SID file, error messages might appear.
The following error message appears in the Renew SAS Software tool:
Renew SAS Software - sas91_xxxxxx.txt
An error occurred applying the setinit file. Please refer to the log
file for additional information.
C:\Program Files\SAS\SAS System\9.0\setinit.log
OK
The following error message appears in the setinit.log file:
Error: Will not attempt to apply setinit because the current release
of 9.1 and the release= option value of 9.0 do not match
The setinit.log file's path is displayed in the Renew SAS Software
window.
To work around this issue, perform the following steps to point to the
correct configuration folder:
1. Click OK.
2. Click Back.
3. Click Back again.
4. Click Browse and point to the correct SAS Installation Data file.
5. Click Next.
6. Click Next again.
7. Click Renew.
