Usage Note 10011: Unix WORK subdirectory names: what do the numbers mean?
WORK library subdirectories created on Unix systems begin with
SAS_work or SAS_util, followed by a string of hex characters that supply a
unique name for the subdirectory. The general form of the name is:
SAS_WORKttttpppppppp_nnnnnnnnnnn
- tttt is seeded with a random number.
- pppppppp is a hex representation of the current process id (the pid).
- nnnnnnnnnnn represents the hostname.
