Problem Note 1370: ERROR: Cannot read TCP socket. System message is '10054-WSAECONNRESET
Signing on through SAS/CONNECT to a secured SAS Job Spawner, may cause
the following error:
ERROR: Cannot read TCP socket. System message is
'10054 - WSAECONNRESET'.
The errors that are generated in the spawner.dat file are as follows:
ERROR: API = CreateEnvironmentBlock
error code = 0.
message = The operation completed successfully.
Microsoft has acknowledged this to be their problem. The Microsoft
problem number is: SRX990715601428.
Microsoft has suggested the following fix for this problem:
Run REGEDT32 and go to the following parameter:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
\SYSTEM
\CurrentControlSet
\Control
\Session Manager
\Environment
You should then look for a string key that has an empty string value.
You will have to either delete this key or give it a '0' value.
If an empty string value is not present, look for a value that begins
with <No Name>. If this is present, delete this entry.
NOTE: SAS accepts no responsibility for any changes that are made
during this process. If you feel uncomfortable making this change in
the registry, please contact Microsoft.
Another work-around is to SIGNON via CONNECT to a non-secured SAS Job
Spawner.
