What's New in System Administration for the SAS 9.1.3 Intelligence Platform
Overview
SAS creates and delivers enterprise intelligence through the SAS Intelligence Platform, which provides the end-to-end infrastructure that is necessary for exploring, analyzing, optimizing, reporting, and understanding your data.
The SAS Intelligence Platform: System Administration Guide is a new document that covers administrative tasks that you need to perform on an ongoing basis after the initial installation and configuration of the SAS Intelligence Platform. The document covers tasks that apply to the SAS Intelligence Platform as a whole. It is one of several new documents that are being published to replace the SAS Intelligence Platform: Administration Guide.
Documentation Enhancements
This document contains the following new information:
- a summary of system administration tasks
- instructions for starting and stopping servers and for checking the status of servers
- instructions for setting up and using an operating system scheduling server
- instructions for setting logging options for SAS servers
- reference information about the location of configuration files and log files
This document contains the following enhancements:
- The information about performing SAS Metadata Server backups has been reorganized and enhanced.
- The documentation about scheduling has been reorganized and enhanced.
This document contains the following information that was previously in the SAS Intelligence Platform: Administration Guide:
- a description of the default system configuration that is put in place by the SAS Configuration Wizard
- administrative tasks for SAS Metadata Servers and SAS Metadata Repositories
- instructions for setting up scheduling for jobs and reports
- reference information regarding initial users, ports, and the structure and content of configuration directories
This document also contains information about starting and monitoring SAS OLAP Servers that was previously in the SAS OLAP Server: Administrator's Guide.
