Export a Model

To export a model:

  1. Select File Organize Models.
  2. Select a model and click Export.

    The Export Model window opens.

    Note: A model is not selectable if you do not have write permission for it.
  3. Specify the following:

    Source Model specifies the model to be exported.
    Exclude Assignment Rules

    specifies that assignment rules are not to be exported with the model.

    You can export assignment rules separately to a table, which you can subsequently import by using either:
    Exclude Associations

    specifies that rule associations are not to be exported with the model.

    You can export rule associations separately to a rule association table, which you can subsequently import by using either:
    Destination XML File specifies the output XML file to which the model is written. BabyBank.xml is a sample exported XML file.
  4. Cick OK.

    The model is exported.

    Note: Exporting a model exports summary report definitions, but not generated cubes.
