Section 1, Task 3: Create a Test PDB and Process, Reduce, and Report on Data | |
You can accomplish this task by using batch mode or the IT Service Vision interface on the IT Service Vision server host. Batch mode is recommended because using the server interface instead would generate enough I/Os to degrade the priority of a TSO session severely.
Note: If at some later time your tables contain only a small amount of data, or you want to accomplish a quick test, you may want to use interactive mode. It is described under the UNIX icons in this task.
In your CPMISC PDS, there is a member, named CMQSTART, that contains a model job that carries out all but the last action in this task.
Each action in this task will first be explained in terms of annotated input and output from the model job. Then the action will be described how to modify the model job's step(s) that carry out that action to use the data from your collector.
After you have converted each of the model job's steps to your collector's data, submit the whole job before you go on to the last action.
