Introduction

If you want to provide update access to a SAS library at the same time that other users are allowed to read the library, use SAS/SHARE software. IT Service Vision supports the use of SAS/SHARE with IT Service Vision SITELIBs and with IT Service Vision PDBs.

How to Use SAS/SHARE with IT Service Vision

The CMCPE CLIST invokes the %CPSTART macro. The %CPSTART macro has parameters that determine the way that your IT Service Vision SITELIB and PDBs are accessed.

• For SITELIB:
  
  
  • Use the SITESHR=server-name parameter to specify the server procedure used with your IT Service Vision SITELIB.
  • Use the SITEACC=access parameter to specify the access to SITELIB, where the value for access is SHR or OLD.

  Note: Updates to SITELIB are common enough that using a SAS server with SITELIB are not unreasonable.

• For the active PDB (specified by the PDB= parameter):
  
  
  • Use the SHARE=server-name parameter to specify the server procedure used with the active PDB.
  • Use the DISP=access parameter to specify the access to the active PDB, where the value for access is SHR or OLD.
