DataFlux Data Management Studio 2.5: User Guide

Connecting to Servers for the Business Data Network

Users must connect to a Web Studio Server that is configured to support the Business Data Network in order to use the Business Data Riser to add or view terms. Server administrators will open the Business Data Administration connections on the Administration riser to maintain roles, users, and term attributes. For more information about both of these tasks, see Using Business Data Network.

It is assumed that a Web Studio Server that is configured to support the Business Data Network has been installed and that you know the domain name or IP address of the server. Perform the following steps to add a connection to this server:

  1. Click the Administration riser.
  2. Select the Business Data Administration folder.
  3. In the server information pane on the right, click the New Web Studio Server icon in the tool bar. The New Web Studio Server Definition dialog displays.
  4. Enter a server name, description, and a domain name or IP address of the server.
  5. If the current server will be your default server for Business Data Network, select Set as default. Otherwise, when you click the Business Data riser, you will get an error about a default server not being defined.
  6. Click Test Connection to verify your connection. Enter any required credentials.
  7. If the connection is successful, click OK to save your changes.
