Prerequisites and Usage Notes for Business Data Network

Prerequisites

Business Data Network software must be licensed and installed as described in the DataFlux Web Studio Installation and Configuration Guide.

In order to for someone to add or update terms in a Business Data Network glossary, both in DataFlux Data Management Studio and DataFlux Web Studio: 

• the person must be registered with the Authentication Server that is associated with the Web Studio Server for Business Data Network; this task is performed by the Authentication Server administrator, as described in the DataFlux Web Studio Installation and Configuration Guide.
• the person must be listed in the Users panel of the Business Data Administration window, as described in Maintaining Roles, Users, and Term Attributes.

If a person does not meet these criteria, then he or she will at most have read-only access to a Business Data Network glossary.

Usage Note

Error: SOAP Request Processing Failed

If you get the error, "SOAP Request Processing Failed", it likely means that the repository database that you are using for Business Data Network has not been set up correctly, or that the database is corrupted.
