BEA WebLogic Server 8.1
Overview
The BEA WebLogic Server is a Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) server that can provide the execution environment for SAS Web Report Studio, SAS Information Delivery Portal, and the SAS Solutions. You can download the server and a trial license from the BEA web site. You can find information about which version of the server to download and a link to the appropriate page on the BEA web site by visiting the Third Party Software Downloads page on the SAS Customer Support Center web site.
Installation Instructions
If you have previous experience installing the BEA WebLogic Server, you should be able to install the server and configure it for use with your SAS web applications by following these instructions:
- Make sure that you have the correct version of the server for the platform on which you will be installing the server. You can determine the correct version for your platform by visiting the Third Party Software Downloads page mentioned above.
- After installing the server, configure an Administration server and a Managed Server. To make configuring your middle-tier machine as easy as possible, we recommend that you name the Administration server Admin and have it listen on port 7501 and that you name the Managed Server SASManagedServer and have it listen on port 7001.
