WebSphere Application Server

Optional Configuration Steps for Your WebSphere Application Server

When you apply the third maintenance release for SAS 9.2, SAS automatically configures your WebSphere Application Server. However, depending on your site, you might need to complete these additional steps:

Set File Security in UNIX Environments

To increase security in UNIX environments that were created before installing the third maintenance release for SAS 9.2, type the following commands at a UNIX prompt:
cd SAS-configuration-directory/Lev1/Web
chmod go= Common/login.config

Enable WebSphere Admin Security

To use Web authentication, you must secure your WebSphere console (if you have not done so already). For more information, see Configuring IBM WebSphere Application Server 6.1 for Web Authentication. This document is available from http://support.sas.com/resources/thirdpartysupport/v92m3/appservers/ConfiguringWASWebAuth.pdf.

Restore Customizations for Web Authentication

After you apply a maintenance release, here are the high-level tasks that you must complete to restore any customizations for Web authentication.
  1. Modify Logon Manager.
  2. Reinstall the SAS Web Infrastructure Platform applications EAR file.
  3. Copy SAS JAR files to the WebSphere installation.
  4. Set the CLASSPATH for the Remote Services JVM.
  5. Restart Remote Services and the WebSphere Application Server.
  6. Log on to verify the Web authentication configuration.
For more information about each task, see the corresponding topics in Configuring IBM WebSphere Application Server 6.1 for Web Authentication with SAS 9.2 Web Application. This document is available from http://support.sas.com/resources/thirdpartysupport/v92m3/appservers/ConfiguringWASWebAuth.pdf.
