Overview of Managing Data Viewers

SAS Web OLAP Viewer can display data by using a number of different data viewers:
  • colormap button  color-mapped table viewer
  • table button  table viewer
  • barchart button  bar chart viewer
  • piechart button  pie chart viewer
  • scatterchart button  scatter plot viewer
  • barline chart button  barline chart viewer
  • tilechart button  tile chart viewer
  • linechart button  line chart viewer
  • map button  map viewer
The default view for a data source contains a table viewer.
You can manage data viewers in the following ways:

Add and Remove Data Viewers

To add a data viewer, select Viewthen selectData Viewer on the main menu bar, and then select the data viewer that you want to add. (For a list of the available data viewers, see Overview of Managing Data Viewers.)
For example, to add a line chart, select Viewthen selectData Viewerthen selectLine Chart on the main menu bar.
To remove a data viewer, click close button on the toolbar for the data viewer that you want to remove.

Minimize and Restore Data Viewers

To minimize a data viewer, click minimize button on the toolbar for the data viewer that you want to hide.
Note: Minimizing a data viewer does not affect the output when you export your view or create a PDF document for printing.
To restore a minimized data viewer, click restore button on the viewer toolbar.

Resize Data Viewers (Graph Viewers Only)

To resize a data viewer, click the right edge or the bottom edge of the viewer and drag it until you have reached the size that you want.
Note: You cannot resize tables and color-mapped tables in this way.

Change Data Viewer Types

To change a data viewer to a different type, select Viewthen selectChange viewer-type to on the toolbar for the data viewer that you want to change, and then select the new type. (For a list of the available data viewer types, see Overview of Managing Data Viewers.)
For example, to change a table to a color-mapped table, select Viewthen selectChange Table tothen selectColor-Mapped Table on the table viewer toolbar.

Select a Column Layout

You can lay out your data viewers in a single column, or in two columns.
To select your data viewer layout:
  1. Select Viewthen selectPreferences on the main toolbar.
  2. Select a layout from the Layout drop-down list:
    one column
    specifies that your data viewers are laid out in a single column.
    two columns
    specifies that your data viewers are laid out in two columns.
  3. Click OK to apply the new layout and return to the main SAS Web OLAP Viewer page.

Rearrange Data Viewers

You can rearrange your data viewers by moving them up and down on the SAS Web OLAP Viewer page.
  • To move a data viewer up, select Viewthen selectMove viewer-type Up on the toolbar for the data viewer that you want to move.
  • To move a data viewer down, select Viewthen selectMove viewer-type Down on the toolbar for the data viewer that you want to move.
  • To move a data viewer to the left (two-column layout only), select Viewthen selectMove viewer-type Left on the toolbar for the data viewer that you want to move.
  • To move a data viewer to the right (two-column layout only), select Viewthen selectMove viewer-type Right on the toolbar for the data viewer that you want to move.
For example, to move a table down, select Viewthen selectMove Table Down on the table viewer toolbar.
