Import a Database Table

You can import data from the following databases:
  • Aster
  • BigInsights
  • Cloudera
  • Cloudera Impala
  • DB2
  • Greenplum
  • Hortonworks
  • MySQL
  • Netezza
  • ODBC
  • Oracle
  • Pivotal HD
  • PostgreSQL
  • Salesforce
  • SAP HANA
  • SQLServer
  • Teradata
  • Vertica
Note: BigInsights, Cloudera, Hortonworks, and Pivotal HD all use the SAS/ACCESS Interface to Hadoop even though they are different menu selections.
To import data from a database:
  1. Select the database name from the list of Server data types. The list includes only the data sources for which SAS/ACCESS software is licensed and that your administrator has granted you the capability to use.
  2. Specify your connection information, and then click Browse to select the table to import.
  3. (Optional) Review the library and location settings by clicking Advanced and make changes if necessary.
You do not have access to the Advanced section if you are importing data from the explorer or designer and do not have the Build Data capability. Instead, you can import the data to a general-purpose area or select Store the table in a private location to prevent other users from accessing the data.
  4. Click OK.
The SAS/ACCESS product for the database must be licensed and configured for the SAS Workspace Server to import database tables.
