About Managing Users and Groups

The SAS High-Performance Computing Management Console enables two types of management for users and groups. The first type, for console users and groups, is described in Managing Console Users and Groups. This section describes the second type of user and group management, system users and groups. This management is performed with the High-Performance Computing (HPC) management section of the interface. It is also used to perform an SSH lockout. A lockout is used to limit access to machines in the cluster.
The management operations that are described in the previous paragraph apply to a deployment that configures the console to manage an environment for SAS LASR Analytic Server. For information about configuring the console environment, see Specifying Console Preferences.
The following figure shows the interface for an administrator who has permission to perform HPC management only. The Active Queries and Connections and Temporary Table Maintenance modules apply to a SAS LASR Analytic Server with Greenplum environment only. The options that are used to perform console management are not available for this administrator.
