By selecting 'Plot options' from the Locals pull-down menu, you can visually check whether a linear, quadratic, or cubic line best fits the data, assuming that the Y axis variable can be considered the dependent variable and the X axis variable the independent variable. Using another plot option, you can request that the correlation coefficient, which indicates the strength of the linear relationship, be displayed on each plot. Neither regression lines nor correlation coefficients can be displayed if you have specified a grouping variable.
Selecting 'Grouping variable' from the Locals menu enables you to add a third dimension to the plots.
