A bookmark is
an internal reference to portal content that enables you to quickly
return to the content. You use bookmarks to maintain a list of portal
content items that you can refer to later. Generally, bookmarks are
used to maintain a list of content items for short-term use. For long-term
use of content items, it is recommended that you add content items
to a collection portlet on one of your portal pages.
You can
do the following tasks with bookmarks:
-
Bookmark content items that you
find by using the search tool. The bookmarked items are then displayed
in your Bookmarks portlet.
Note: If your Bookmarks
portlet does not appear on any of your portal pages, then you can
add it.
For
instructions, see Add Your Bookmarks Portlet.
-
Place bookmarked content items
in a new collection portlet
-
Publish bookmarks to other users
-
E-mail bookmarks to other users
-
Remove bookmarks from your Bookmarks
portlet.
You can
also edit your Bookmarks portlet in order to specify whether you want
the portlet to display the location and description of each bookmarked
item below the item's name.
See Edit Your Bookmarks Portlet.
