Personalizing Your Portal

When you log on to the portal, your personal portal appears. You can modify this view of the portal according to your individual preferences and need for information. When you make these modifications, you are personalizing the portal.
Note: Most personalization tasks are performed by using the portal's Options and Customize menus. For details about these menus, see Using the Options Menu and Using the Customize Menu.
  • add pages:
    • create a new page and add it to your personal portal. For instructions, see Create a New Page.
    • add a predefined page. This is a page that is publicly available, a page that has been shared with a group of users to which you belong, or a page that you previously created. See Add a Predefined Page.
  • edit pages:
  • create portlets and add them to a page:
    • create a new portlet. See Creating a New Portlet.
    • add a predefined portlet to a page. A predefined portlet is a portlet that is publicly available, or that has been shared with a group of users to which you belong. It can also be a portlet that you previously created.See Add a Predefined Portlet to a Page.
  • create other content as links:
  • remove pages or portlets that you no longer need:
  • change the portal display:
You can also personalize your portal by modifying certain types of portlets. To do so, use the Edit Properties icon Edit Properties icon or the Edit Content icon Edit Content icon in the portlet's title bar. For more information, see About Editing Portlets.
