View a Syndication Channel

A syndication channel is a channel that provides syndicated, continuously updated Web content. One or more syndication channels might be available for you to access in the portal.
Note: Syndication channels are also known as RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds.
To view content from a syndication channel:
  1. Navigate to a collection portlet that contains a syndication channel. Syndication channels are identified by the icon of a syndication channel icon.
Note: If your portal does not list the syndication channel that you want, then you can use the search tool to find it.
  2. Click the name of the syndication channel that you want to view.
The portal accesses the channel's URL address and displays its table of contents in the viewer.
  3. From the viewer, you can take the following actions:
    • To open one of the syndication channel's content items, click on a table of contents entry.
    • To create an e-mail that contains the syndication channel's URL address, click E-mail in the toolbar. For more information, see E-mail a Reference to Portal Content.
    • To return to the search results, click Search in the banner. To return to the portal page that was displayed most recently, click Portal Page in the banner. (For best results, always use these links instead of the browser's Back button.)
Syndication channels are based on the RSS (Really Simple Syndication) standard XML format.
