The SAS Information Delivery Portal enables you to
create e-mail messages that contain one or more URL addresses for
portal content items. Use one of the following methods to create the
e-mail:
-
To e-mail the URL address for a
file, link, package, publication channel, information map, stored
process, or syndication channel:
-
Display
the item whose URL address you want to e-mail.
(For details about displaying
content, see About Viewing Content.)
-
Click
E-mail in the toolbar.
-
To e-mail the URL address for a
page or a portlet:
-
Use the
search tool to find the page or portlet.
-
In the
search results panel, click the name of the page or portlet. The page
or portlet is displayed in the viewer.
-
Click
E-mail in the toolbar.
-
To create an e-mail that contains
up to 10 different URL addresses:
-
Create
a bookmark for each content item that you want to include.
For details, see Create a Bookmark.
-
In the
Bookmarks portlet, select the check box for each content item that
you want to include. Select a maximum of nine items.
Note: If the Bookmarks
portlet does not appear on any of your portal pages, you can add it.
For instructions, see Add Your Bookmarks Portlet.
-
In the
Bookmarks portlet, click
E-mail.
The portal
uses the default e-mail program, as defined in your browser, to create
an e-mail message. The URL address(es) for the content item(s) appears
in the body of the message. You can now enter the recipient's e-mail
address and send the message.
When a
user accesses portal content through a URL address, the portal checks
the user's credentials to determine whether the user is allowed to
view the content.
