Some components may have special outlines or scroll
bars. By default, when an attachment is attached to the side of a
component, the actual attachment point is considered to be the edge
of the component itself. This point is along the inside edge of any
special outline that the component may have. It is also inside any
attached scroll bars that may be associated with the component.
External attachments
enable you to create attachments with attachment points on the outer
edge of the component dressing. This type of attachment is often necessary
when the component dressing is a fixed number of pixels, as it is
with component outlines and component attached scroll bars. To create
an external attachment, you should initiate rubber-band line mode
with an extended drag operation instead of a normal drag.
External attachments
look different from other attachments. They use a thicker line, and
the terminating point of the directed arrow is the component border
instead of the component itself.
