LIBNAME Statement: PC Files on Microsoft Windows

NULLCHARVAL

Sets the character string that replaces SAS character missing values during insert, update, and DBKEY processing.

Valid in:	DATA and PROC steps (when accessing PC files data using SAS/ACCESS software)
Default value:	a blank character

Syntax

NULLCHARVAL='character-string'

The NULLCHARVAL= option affects insert and update processing and also applies when you use the DBKEY= option.

This option works with the NULLCHAR option, which determines whether a SAS character NULL value is treated as a NULL value.
