Professional experience:
Tim Verdonck is a professor of Statistics and Data Science at the Department of Mathematics of University of Antwerp (Belgium). He is affiliated to ROBUST@Leuven, the research group on Robust Statistics of KU Leuven (Belgium). He served as an invited professor at the University of Bologna, teaching advanced non-life insurance in the Master of Quantitative Finance and serves as the chair for several prestigious and influential analytics organizations. His research interests are in the development and application of robust statistical methods for financial, actuarial, and economic data sets. Tim teaches probability and statistics to large groups of bachelor students and advanced analytics and actuarial courses at the master’s level. He is also managing partner of Boltzmann, a team of machine learning experts that transforms data into actionable insights.
