Usage Note 65778: "Cursors are not supported on a...Clustered Columnstore Index" occurs when you use SAS/ACCESS® Interface to ODBC on Microsoft SQL Server

When using SAS/ACCESS Interface to ODBC to read from Microsoft SQL Server, you can receive the following error:
CLI describe error: [Microsoft] [ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server] [SQL Server]
Cursors are not supported on a table which has a Clustered ColumnStore Index

The problem occurs because performing a dynamic fetch using scrollable cursors is not supported by this type of table.
To circumvent the problem, remove any READBUFF=, INSERTBUFF=, and DBCOMMIT= statements and use the following parameter instead:
cursor_type=forward_only
This parameter allows for sequential fetch and provides performance as good as the READBUFF parameter.

When using Clustered Columnstore Indexes in SQL Server, you can get errors that they are not supported with scrollable cursors. To circumvent the problem, add cursor_type=forward_only to your LIBNAME statement.
