SAS Drive enables you to create projects, which are a shared repository for collaborative content and data. The contents of a project are tracked so that you can monitor activity and the history of changes within the project. For example, a project might contain virtual pointers to related SAS® Visual Analytics reports, as well as other content. Often, the contents of a single project are in different physical folder locations.
Project actions are managed by the Projects service. In order to ensure that the Projects service remains in sync with the Projects folder, projects should be managed only from the Projects tab in SAS Drive.
If you are a non-administrative user, the Projects folder is deliberately hidden through standard file navigation. You cannot navigate to the Projects folder from the All tab in SAS Drive, or navigate to the Projects folder in SAS Visual Analytics.
Tip: If your goal is simply to provide access to a shared group of reports and there is no need for collaboration, then use a standard folder.
Note: Some applications, such as SAS® Studio, enable non-administrative users to see the contents of the Projects folder. However, not all content can be opened from that location. For example, if you attempt to open a SAS Visual Analytics report from the Projects folder in SAS Studio, you see a message that the report is an unsupported file type.
