Problem Note 64829: SAS® Model Manager fails to create a Training Summary Data Set report, and a "Variable NAME not found ..." error is displayed

When you create a new Training Summary Data Set report in SAS Model Manager, the report might fail with the following error in the corresponding SAS log:
3573 /* split the train_distribution table as per the type of variables */
3574 %split_dist_table(distributionTable=train_distribution,contentTable=train_conten ts,outnumTable=num_dist,outcatTable=cat_d 3574 ! ist,levelLimit=&_MM_CategoryLevelLimit);
ERROR: Variable NAME not found.
NOTE: The SAS System stopped processing this step because of errors.
The problem occurs when the SAS WORK directory name contains a period (.).
Example:
/tmp/mycom.a.com
To work around the issue, use the -WORK option in SAS to specify a SAS WORK directory that does not contain a period in the name.
