Note: To renew the SAS license file for SAS® 9.4M2 (TS1M2), SAS® 9.4M1 (TS1M1), or SAS® 9.4M0 (TS1M0), see SAS Note 49679, "License file renewal instructions for SAS® 9.4 personal installations in Microsoft Windows operating environments."
A way to identify your currently installed software release is by launching Renew SAS Software (from Start ► SAS). If you select a language and then the title of the window is SAS Deployment Manager, then your release is SAS® 9.4M3 or a later SAS 9.4 release.
Perform the steps below.
Before you begin the steps to renew your SAS license file, you need to determine your current SAS version and SAS site number:
Now, to renew the SAS license file for SAS 9.4M3 or later, such as SAS 9.4M4, SAS 9.4M5, SAS 9.4M6, SAS 9.4M7, or later SAS 9.4 releases, perform these steps.
Alternatively, navigate to the C:\program files\SASHOME\SASDeploymentManager\9.4\ folder. Right-click SASdm.exe and select Run as administrator. Select Renew SAS Software. Click Next. Note: Your SAS installation might be in a different folder.
Note: The default SAS license file (SID file) name is in this format: SAS94_order#_SiteNum_operating-system.txt.
Note that order# is the unique order number for your site, SiteNum is your 8-digit SAS site number, and operating-system is the valid operating system for the SID file.
If you do not have the SID file, see the section "Obtain a SID File," below. To check the currently licensed SAS products and corresponding expiration dates, do the following:
To obtain a SID file, contact the SAS installation representative at your company. To determine the SAS installation representative who is responsible for your site, navigate to SAS Support Personnel at Your Site.
Make sure that you have your SAS site number and company name. This information is displayed at the top of the SAS log window when you first start SAS 9.4. Or, if SAS 9.4 is expired, then it is displayed in the expiration message.
Alternatively, contact the personnel at your company who are responsible for SAS installations and provide your SAS site number and version as determined above.
