In SAS® Drug Development 3.5 while using Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 9 and 10 problems can occur recognizing Office extensions. This is due to a security feature in these browser versions. The result is that Office files could be recognized as ZIP files not their actual content type.

To change this behavior to correctly recognize the file type:

1. In the upper right corner of the browser, click Tools to open the drop down menu
2. At the bottom of the Tools menu, click Internet Options
3. In the Internet Options dialog box, select the Security tab
4. On the Security tab, select an Internet zone, click the Custom Level button
5. Scroll about 2/3 down the list to the option “Enable MIME Sniffing” and change the setting to Disable
6. Click OK
7. Repeat steps 4-6 for the Local Intranet zone and Trusted Sites zone;
8. Click OK
9. Close all instances of the browser
10. Reopen the browser and it should now recognize Office extensions when downloading from SAS Drug Development.
