Problem Note 52201: Graphics output created with the SAS® 9.4 PNG300 device driver seems to display with lower resolution than graphics output created with SAS® 9.3
Graphics output created with the SAS 9.4 PNG300 device driver seems to display with a lower resolution than graphics output created with the SAS 9.3 PNG300 device driver. For example, lines and fonts created with the SAS 9.3 PNG300 driver appear sharper and crisper than lines and fonts created with the SAS 9.4 PNG300 driver.
This issue occurs because anti-aliasing is disabled with the PNG300 device driver in SAS 9.4 TS1M0 and SAS 9.4 TS1M1. This was done to improve performance.
To circumvent the problem, use the PNG device driver along with the IMAGE_DPI=290 option in the ODS LISTING statement. For example:

goptions reset=all device=png gsfname=grafout;
