Problem Note 51956: SASComb.dll fails to register during the deployment process

During the SAS® installation process, you might find that the SASComb.dll or other SAS DLL files have failed to register. The problem occurs if any of the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005, 2008, or 2010 Redistributable 32-bit or 64-bit components are corrupted. The issue becomes apparent when the SAS® Deployment Wizard runs.
When you review the IT_yyyy-mm-dd-hh.mm.ss.log, it shows a message similar to the following for the respective DLL file that failed to register:

To work around this problem, it is recommended that you uninstall and reinstall all Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 32-bit or 64-bit components for 2005, 2008, and 2010 on your system. Then, launch the SAS Deployment Wizard again to attempt to install the components that previously failed.
If SAS DLL files fail to register, this can be an indication that Windows operating system files are corrupted on the system on which you are attempting to install SAS. To check the integrity of your Windows system files, run the system file checker tool, as shown below, from an Administrator level DOS command window:
sfc /scannow
If corrupted system files exist, repair the corrupted system files or reinstall or restore the Windows operating system.
