When you log on to SAS^® Model Manager, you might encounter the following error:

java.lang.RuntimeException: com.sas.apps.session.ApplicationNotInitializedException: 
java.lang.RuntimeException: com.sas.apps.session.ConfigurationReadException.  

The templates are on the file system located at the directory <SASConfig>/<Level>/AnalyticsPlatform/apps/ModelManager/ext. The error occurs because the directory does not conform to the SAS Model Manager template definition.

To verify that non-conformity is the problem, perform the following steps:

1. Enable logging for SAS Model Manager in SAS Management Console ► Environment Management ► Foundation Services Manager ► Analytics Platform ► Core Services.

   1. Open the properties dialog box - click Logging Service, right-click, select Properties.

   2. Choose Service Configuration ► Configuration ► New. Add "com.sas.analytics.modelmanager" as the name.

   3. Choose priority DEBUG and select SAS_LS_FileAppender. Click OK.

2. Restart SAS^® Analytics Platform service.
3. Re-create the issue by logging on to SAS Model Manager.

4. Review the AnalyticsPlatform.log file from <SASConfig>/<Level>/AnalyticsPlatform/Logs, and search for places where the XML files are read and loaded. The error looks like the following entries:

"No Participants were specified" indicates that there is an error in the UserReportTemplate.xml file. After you correct the error, restart the SAS Analytics Platform service, and you can log on to SAS Model Manager.

Note that any changes made to the XML file require restarting the SAS Analytics Platform service.
