When viewing Microsoft OLAP data within a PivotTable in Microsoft Excel 2010, you can select the Insert Slicer PivotTable option to insert a slicer navigation area at the top of the PivotTable.

When accessing a SAS OLAP cube, attempting to select Insert Slicer generates an error similar to the following, and the slicer is not added to the PivotTable.

Support for this functionality has not yet been made available for SAS OLAP data accessed via an Excel 2010 PivotTable.

As an alternative, if you use the SAS OLAP Analyzer now available in SAS Add-in for Microsoft Office 4.3 instead of Excel's PivotTable to display the SAS OLAP cube, then you can use the View Manager from the context menu to surface the member values for selection in the slicer, as shown below:
