A standard deployment plan describes a common configuration. These plans are stored by default in the SAS Software Depot. A custom deployment plan is created for a specific site by a SAS representative.
SAS maintains a library of standard deployment plans. The standard deployment plans listed below are the same ones that are included in the SAS Deployment Wizard. One benefit of downloading a standard deployment plan from the web is all the extra files that you receive along with the plan.xml file. One of the most important files is the checklist of things that you need to do before starting the installation. (For example, installing third-party software, setting up user IDs, and so on).

The deployment plans can also be obtained from the Downloads and Hotfixes web page.
The standard deployment plans that are created for a Windows x64 operating system also work for other operating systems. However, to specify an operating system other than Windows x64, you must have a custom deployment plan created for you.
If you are using an operating system other than Windows, you might see the following note and warning during the installation:
Note: Product names shown in bold text are either not available in this order or are not supported on this platform.
Warning: Some products are not listed for the selected machine because they are either not available in this order or are not supported on this platform. See the previous dialog box for a list of the excluded products.
**If you require a custom deployment plan, contact your sales account representative.
For additional information, see the following documentation:
If you are not sure what type of plan is needed, perform these steps:
If a Custom plan file is needed, the following screen appears. In this case, the customer needs to contact their professional services representative or their sales account representative to get a custom plan file:
