Usage Note 44192: An error occurs when you use Sybase Open Client 15 with SAS® 9.2 or earlier

When you use Sybase Open Client 15 with SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Sybase in SAS 9.2 or earlier, you receive the following error:
ERROR: The SAS/ACCESS Interface to Sybase SASSYB appendage cannot be loaded. ERROR: Error in the LIBNAME statement.
The error occurs because SAS is looking for certain library files that have been renamed in Sybase Open Client 15.
On a Windows System
Run the copylibs.bat file in the C:\SybaseClientLocation\OCS-15_0\scripts directory. To run the copylibs.bat file on Windows, follow these steps:
- Open a DOS prompt: Click Start ► Run. Then type cmd in the Run dialog box.
- Change directories: cd C:\SybaseClientLocation\OCS-15_0\scripts
- Run this command: copylibs.bat create
Four additional library files are now located in the dll directory.
On a UNIX System
Run the lnsyblibs file in the <SybaseClientLocation>/OCS-15_0/scripts. Follow these steps:
- Change directories: cd SybaseClientLocation/OCS-15_0/scripts
- Run this command: lnsyblibs create
The scripts create symbolic links from the libsybname library files to the libname files.
