Usage Note 43263: CGM files might fail to import into Microsoft Office when using DDE
The following error might be issued when using DDE to import CGM files into Microsoft Office 2007:
An error occurred while importing this file. [filename]
The file might fail to import even after the most recent Microsoft Office update is applied.
This issue has been confirmed as a Microsoft issue and a Microsoft hot fix (2496969) is available at the following link:
Note: This problem does not occur when using Microsoft Office 2010.
